Sip Me, I’m IRISH!

A Spirited History: Jameson Irish Whiskey

In 1780, John Jameson of Ireland established a method of making Irish whiskey that John Jameson & Son Limited proudly have been implementing to this day.

The secret behind their signature smoothness?  Their process and their people.

Following their family motto “Sine Metu” (without fear) has allowed them to produce whiskey through two world wars, an Irish civil war and even American Prohibition. The family motto is proudly displayed on the front of every bottle.

Jameson Irish Whiskey is made by blending rich pot-still whiskey from malted and unmalted barley with the finest grain whiskey, both distilled three times for smoothness. And while their barley is grown within 100 miles of Midleton, Ireland, their water comes from the Dungourney River, which flows right through their distillery.

While Jameson is Irish through and through, their Head Cooper Ger Buckley turns to friends in the U.S. and Spain to provide their casks. The casks’ previous life of aging bourbon and fortified wine leaves them seasoned and ready to pass some of their toasted wood, vanilla and sweet sherry personality along to Jameson Irish Whiskey.
